BLOGGERS POLL: Feel The Burn
Still waiting for the electorate to cool off? You can keep on waiting, according to this week's NationalJournal.com Bloggers Poll.
Both left and right agreed voters will be angrier than normal heading into November's midterm election. In fact, except for one blogger on the left, they were unanimous. Among left-leaning bloggers, a third of respondents said the electorate would be a lot angrier, and 60 percent said a little. Among right-leaners, 70 percent said voters would be a lot angrier and the rest said a little.
While the majority on the left saw voters' anger continuing, there was some disagreement about how it would sustain and what the effect would be. "That's what happens when you tell Americans that their government is trying to kill them. The tactics will blow back upon those who use them," said Brian Leubitz. Chris Bowers added, "Normally I would say 'a lot angrier,' but 'direction of the country' numbers have been in the toilet for so long, this is getting pretty routine." But Lee Papa said, "Fox News and the right-wing noise machine will make sure that the Republican base will be worked up into a lather. And if the Democratic base responds in kind, it's gonna be a helluva ride in the fall."
Meanwhile, right-leaning bloggers saw current trends continuing. "The majority was ignored... their anger can only be communicated with their vote," said Susan Duclos. "Anger will be about two things: the economy, which is unlikely to improve much, and the out-of-control growth of government. Also, it's unusual -- and bad for the party in power -- to enter a midterm with a president who is basically openly undeterred by public opposition to his agenda," said Dan McLaughlin. Skip Murphy said it doesn't help that the right is "being told over and over again that we're racist, homophobic, xenophobic rednecks clinging to our Bibles and guns who don't know that civility and manners count."
Bloggers were also asked to rate the GOP's chances of a House takeover this fall on a scale of 0 to 10. Left-leaners averaged out to a 3.7, and right-leaners said 6.4. Right blogger Debbie Hamilton voted 6 and said, "Americans have short memories. Much of the health care bill does not kick in until after the elections. Any other legislation Obama may get through will not have immediate consequences, either." On the left, Greg Dworkin voted 2, saying, "Never say never, but I think this is bottom for Dems; in this case it looks like a 20-25-seat loss."

Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)
