CT SEN IV: 'Cause We Just Can't Get Enough
The lone pro-Lieberman voice in the blogosphere, LieberDem, lost half of its contirbuting staff 7/31. Matt Smith: "Dan Gerstein has just entered an official position with the Lieberman campaign. In light of this development, Dan and I have mutually agreed that it would be best if he ceased being a contributor on the blog while he is officially connected to the Lieberman campaign."
From there Smith went on the defensive: " I also should reiterate that I have always been the blog's sole administrator, just in case anyone decides to follow Jane Hamsher's dishonest attempts to question this blog's independence. ... The simple truth is that I did not know Dan had entered into the official employ of the Lieberman campaign until a couple hours ago, and he hadn't officially joined the Lieberman team until last week (before that, he was working for Tom Suozzi). Had I known before, I would have requested that he leave before."
Back in CT Matt Stoller at MyDD offers up a comical scene from the New Haven, CT, stop of the "Joe's Tomorrow Tour." Stoller writes: "I stood around with my sign, going back and forth a bit with the Lieberyouth. ... Anyway, after about a half hour of juking, this little kid came up to me and said he really wanted to hold my sign. He had been holding Lieberman signs, but he was bored, and my sign was taller than their signs. Lieberman had just a few minutes earlier come up to the kid for a photo op, so I figured, sure, why not, and I gave my sign to him. This presented a problem for the Lieberyouth, because they had to now block a child from showing his sign to Lieberman and the crowd. The kid thought it was a game, and he was having fun trying to dodge the Lieberyouth. Then he charged ahead right into the speaking area, and the Lieberyouth realized they had to confiscate the sign from a kid who was clearly enjoying holding it."
